The author, Diana Sears, is a longtime Tierra Del Mar resident. In her book she collects numerous local historical stories and memories, describing the early history of the south Tillamook County community and the lives of its residents and visitors. Other long-time residents and visitors have added their own stories. The book is filled with historical photos of local residents, cabins, businesses, farm buildings, and the scenic beauty of the area, preserving and sharing the rich history of this longtime beach community. Due to the wild beauty of the beach, lakes, forests, and farms in the area, real estate speculation at Tierra Del Mar began as early as the 1920s.
