November, 2024
We have had a busy Fall, with a fascinating presentation on the history of the Pioneer Museum building by Lori Gates, and a great presentation on indigenous basketry, food, and cultural life of local tribes by Stephanie Craig from the Grand Ronde tribes.
We are partnering with the Tillamook County Pioneer Association with our Christmas Tree offering for the Pioneer Museum’s Festival of Trees on December 6, 2024. It is a fun evening with the opportunity of purchasing a beautifully decorated holiday tree for your home or business.
In early 2025, we are planning a trip to the Chachalu Museum and Cultural Center at the Grand Ronde Reservation. We are eager to see their innovative museum.
We think we’ve finished our Cloverdale photo mural project, with an extensive public display of historic photographs mounted on buildings in Cloverdale’s historic business district. A walking tour brochure is available at local merchants. It is well worth a visit, and can include ice cream and cheese samples at the Nestucca Creamery and the Tillamook County Creamery Association’s farm store.
Our books will be on sale at the annual holiday bazaar at the Tillamook County Fairgrounds the weekends of November 15, 16, 22, and 23. We will be sharing our book table with the Tillamook County Pioneer Association. Come see us!
Best,
Neal Lemery, President
